Allisyn Holweg, LPC, Loveland, Ft. Collins, Greeley

Allisyn is originally from Minnesota and moved out to Colorado for college and has made this her home ever since. She is a single mother of two daughters, and despite the challenges of being a single mother, she overcame this to pursue a Masters degree in Counseling and has been working in this field since 1996. She believes that no two people are alike, and everyone has a story to tell and needs support in different ways. Sometimes these stories include issues are small and can be dealt with in a very short period of time and other times they are a bit bigger or lead to larger issues and take longer. As their story unfolds Allisyn is here to support and guide her clients along the journey and help them heal, learn to cope, find supports and meet their goals whatever they may be.

Allisyn is a trauma informed therapist. She is a certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) which is a type of therapy specifically used to treat trauma, PTSD, nightmares, Anxiety, Depression, flashbacks, or any other type of current or repressed memory of a trauma that still affects daily life functioning. She is also trained in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which is often used to treat depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse and for the treatment of self harm and decreasing suicidal ideation. Allisyn is also trained in play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy and narrative therapy and she uses these interventions with children to help them to tell their stories and learn new coping skills. Allisyn has an eclectic approach to therapy. She tries to honor the process that happens with each person and meet his or her specific needs.

· Children and Teens –depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, neglect, criminal behavior, substance abuse, self-harm, defiance and behavioral issues, parental conflict problems, school issues, abandonment issues, grief and loss, body image, ADHD, ADD, LGBTQ issues.

· Adults –depression, bi-polar disorder, PTSD, anxiety, stress-related issues, self-esteem, schizophrenia, ADHD and ADD, substance abuse, mindfulness, LGBTQ issues, anger management, grief and loss.

· Relationship and Family Issues –parenting, couples and marriage counseling

Allisyn holds a Masters degree from Colorado State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado and National Certified Counselor. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughters and her dogs. She enjoys painting, art, and photography.
