Life is a journey that presents us with choices, opportunities and obstacles along the way. Anne is a compassionate and caring counselor, who greets clients where they are on their journey and walks alongside them, wherever their journey finds them. Her many years as an art instructor lend to her clinical skills through creative therapies, such as Art Therapy and Play Therapy, and kids and teens quickly develop a strong rapport with Anne, allowing for beautiful positive change in their lives. Through her training and education and experience, Anne is ideally skilled at meeting the social/emotional needs of clients of all ages, guiding them through challenges and obstacles to create lasting positive change in their lives. With an appreciation of diversity and creativity, and a deep respect for all individuals seeking to better their lives, Anne believes in the resourcefulness of all human beings and that we are all capable of pulling ourselves up and propelling ourselves forward in life. Perhaps her greatest strength is her ability to break down large, seemingly overwhelming goals, into bite-sized tasks that accumulate into great accomplishments. Anne works with clients of all ages across a variety of issues, including:
- Children and Teens –depression, anxiety, criminal behavior, self-harm, defiance, parental conflict problems, school issues, abandonment issues, body image, LGBTQ issues, behavioral concern
- Mental Health Counseling/Health and Wellness –depression, bi-polar disorder, PTSD, anxiety, stress-related issues, self-esteem, schizophrenia, ADHD and ADD, mindfulness, anger management
- Relationship and Family Issues –parenting, couples and marriage counseling, marital difficulties, divorce and divorce recovery, unresolved conflict and conflict resolution, affair recovery, attachment issues, families dealing with a mentally ill or terminally ill family member.
- Life Changes and Transitions –life coaching, career challenges and transitions, stage of life issues, end-of-life and grief and loss.
Anne holds a Masters of Arts Degree from University of Northern Colorado and was an art instructor for 30 years, before transitioning to a career in the field of Counseling, completing her Masters in Education–Counseling and Career Development, Community Focus, at Colorado State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado and a National Certified Counselor.
