Debbie has come to us with over 30 years of experience in Social Work. She began in Child and Family Services in a County Department of Human Services as a Social Caseworker in Child Protection intake.  She has had several positions while with the County Department of Human Services.  Including Child Protection, intake and permanency, Youth Services, Youth Services Supervisor, Child Protection Permanency Supervisor and Teen Parent team Supervisor.  Her experience includes Chair of the PART team, (Placement Review Team), Liaison with Probation, District Attorney, Law enforcement, Mental Health professionals, and School Districts as part of the Chair of the SHODI committee (Serious, Habitual, Directed Intervention Team)  The goal was to provide intervention for teens to divert them from further involvement with law enforcement.  Including individual therapy, family therapy, and other therapeutic interventions.  Her expertise is in assessing for safety, assessing for out of home placement, and leading and directing casework staff.  She has been a member of many State level committees that include improvement of services provided by County Department of Human Services and developing policy and services for teens aging out of the system toward emancipation. Debbie is well versed in State mandates and policy and procedures and understands how the system works.  She is very familiar with Court, both the D&N Court (Dependency and Neglect Petitions in Civil Court) and Criminal Court.

Debbie has experience in University Level Education at the Metropolitan State University in the Department of Social Work.  She has taught at the BSW level.  She was also the Child Welfare Stipend Coordinator, where she approved stipends for Social Work students in both the BSW and MSW program.  She supervised students while in their placements, to provide support, to trouble shoot problems and conflict resolution.

Debbie was a case manager for a CPA, Child Placement Agency, providing help and support for foster parents and the children they foster.  Scheduling family group decision making and staffing meetings for all those involved, attending Court, and meeting with foster parents and children.

Debbie received her BS in Psychology at Metro State College, and her MSW at the University of Denver.
