Butterfly Pavilion is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated Monarch Magic celebration. Launching on November 3, the exhibition will feature the release of hundreds of majestic monarch butterflies within the "Wings of the Tropics" butterfly rainforest conservatory, through the end of the month. The monarch, known for its striking orange wings, is not just a favorite in Colorado gardens, but also represents the quintessential pollinator around the world. In Mexican culture the arrival of the Monarchs is believed to be the spirits of the dead, celebrated during Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead.
Guests will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to wander amidst these breathtaking creatures in a tropical setting, adorned with exotic blossoms. While immersed in this experience, visitors can also gain insight into the monarch's crucial contribution to maintaining a thriving ecosystem, pivotal for all life on our planet.
In honor of Día de los Muertos, Butterfly Pavilion will be setting up a community altar, decorated by students of Arrupe Jesuit High School, inviting guests to leave notes in remembrance of loved ones who have passed on. Additionally, a state-of-the-art Virtual Reality station will be available, enabling visitors to be virtually transported to Mexico, offering a firsthand view of the magnificent Monarch congregations in their natural habitat. We will also be offering daily tours in Spanish at 1 PM. Join us in celebrating life, nature, and Mexican cultural heritage.
