Melanie is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and earned her Master’s of Counseling degree from Colorado Christian University in 2011. She has extensive experience supporting children, teens, and young adults facing a multitude of challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, psychosis, parenting, and other mental and behavioral health issues. Melanie has also worked with different communities including LGBTQIA+, military families, individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, and individuals involved in human trafficking. She has experience across a variety of treatment settings including private practice, residential treatment, inpatient, and crisis situations.
Her approach to therapy is a relaxed and non-judgmental eclectic mix that would most benefit the client. This includes cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused, play, art, strength-based, and motivational interviewing. She will focus on your strengths, interests, abilities, and help you build skills so you can achieve your individualized goals. To her, it is important to meet each person where they are, allowing a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
When not in the office, Melanie can be found doing puzzles, participating in game nights, hiking, reading, doing art, and going to concerts.
