Raymell received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, from Grand Valley State. Her formal education combined with her professional work experience has prepared her to counsel teens, young adults, adults, families, and groups of all ages.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Raymell has over 15 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist, Crisis Counselor, and Family Specialist. Her areas of experience are working with those who suffer from Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Parenting concerns, Career Challenges, Sexual Abuse, ADHD, and OCD as well as grief. She has extensive experience working with those who have survived trauma in the form of sexual abuse and families that are in crisis.
Raymell’s counseling style embraces the principles of Positive Psychology which is based upon the belief that we should be as concerned with a person’s strengths as with their weaknesses. This approach takes a client-centered approach; building the best things in an individual’s life, as well as in repairing the worst. She believes in using a kind yet direct approach with my clients working in a non-judgmental manner meeting clients directly where they are in life.
Raymell also has a strong belief in the healing process and works with clients using Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic and Mindfulness Techniques.
