Colorado Springs
Brynn recently moved to Colorado to join the KidStuff team. She holds a bachelor’s in Psychology, a master’s in Counseling Psychology, and a second master’s in Forensic Psychology. She is currently licensed as a Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas, and a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado.
Brynn has spent the last 3 years as a middle school counselor in Kansas, which is where she discovered her love of working with adolescents.
Brynn’s counseling philosophy is very person-centered, which she hopes will allow her to create an open, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe. Brynn believes this establishes a strong therapeutic alliance with the clients so they can feel seen and heard in ways that empower them to set and reach their own therapeutic or life goals. The methods that Brynn employs depend entirely upon the client, although humor is used with almost everyone.
She is also trained and experienced in many areas such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed practices, play therapy, mindfulness practices and more. Most of her client experience has been with adolescents who have or were currently experiencing trauma. Brynn has experienced trauma herself and believes in helping others like they would want to be helped. She also has experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community and understands firsthand some of the challenges that come with being a part of that community.
In her spare time, Brynn enjoys music, exploring the outdoors, traveling, going to museums, reading, and spending time with her partner, family, and friends.
