For three decades, Jamie has supported children and families through her work in the field of early childhood education as a teacher, preschool director, and parent educator. She is excited to be making a shift into the field of counseling to fulfill her passion for supporting children and families through the challenges that life can often bring.
After growing up in Southern California, Jamie lived in Seattle and middle Georgia before moving to Colorado in 2016. She earned a B.A. degree in Child Development and a M.A. degree in Human Development prior to beginning a second M.A. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. Her goal following graduation is to be a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, working with children, teens, and their families.
Her therapeutic approach is humanistic, and client centered. She meets clients where they are, in a holistic environment that provides a safe space for self-discovery and self-expression, while creating a collaborative relationship with the client.
In her free time Jamie enjoys exploring Colorado, reading, snuggling with her cat Gus while watching rom coms and reality tv, traveling, and spending time with her family.
