Julie believes that clients are the expert on themselves and that counseling goals should be focused on helping clients create the kind of rich, full, and meaningful life that they strive for.

Her interests center on issues related to social justice and intimate partner violence as well as religious trauma. She draws from an eclectic array of techniques such as DBT, CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. She has completed the Gottman Institute’s Level 2 Training and uses methods based on the Gottman’s 40 years of couples’ research. She has been fully trained in EMDR therapy through the Maiberger Institute. She is a National Counselor Certified through the National Board of Certified Counselors.

In her spare time, Julie loves to cook, bake, write, garden, and exercise. She is wholly devoted to books and orange cats and gets hooked on funny, geeky TV shows.
