Mandy received her Master’s Degree in Art Therapy in 2011 From the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She began her career working in a residential facility for adults with severe and chronic mental illness, then worked as an Art Therapist working with court involved youth in Chicago. In this position, she was able to work with young people with a variety of concerns including traumatic experiences, PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety and delinquent behavior.
Mandy uses a strength-based, holistic approach to counseling and uses a collaborative approach to the therapeutic relationship. As an Art Therapist, Mandy understands that talking may not always be the best way to explore thoughts and feelings, and she uses a variety of art materials to help her clients find the best way to express themselves while exploring difficult subject matter. Mandy also uses mindfulness techniques, breath work and yoga to assist clients in building a mind-body connection.
When she is off work, you will likely find Mandy outdoors hiking with her dog, making art or going for long drives with the music up!
