Hey y’all!
My name is Maya, I use she/her pronouns and I hope you will feel comfortable to share yours with me so that I may honor you in and out of our space together.
I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage, Couples, & Family Therapy with an emphasis in Early Childhood & Adolescent Development from the University of Northern Colorado. I have significant training in Child Center Play Therapy as well as Perinatal Mental Health.
I am a relationally focused, Play Therapy-oriented, Family (or systems) therapist devoted to helping people learn how to strengthen their relationships with others through playful interactions. I aim to be Neurodiverse affirming throughout the play therapy work I engage in. I have a deep passion for Perinatal Mental Health, Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health, as well as socially just healing practices that reorient you to your truest self.
It is my belief that you are the expert in your (or your child’s) life. It is my privilege to highlight strengths and empower you towards the values that align with your most authentic self. I am willing to compassionately challenge the culturally specific social stories that may be turning you away from you are becoming.
Outside of the “office” I am creative, spirited, lover of books and crafting. Music is very grounding for me and brings great joy.
