Meleana received her Masters in Counseling Education from Adams State University and is a licensed professional counselor candidate in the state of Colorado. She has experience working with children, teens, adults and families.
She received her Bachelors of Art Education from Radford University in Virginia and often incorporates art into the therapeutic process, along with additional mindfulness techniques, play therapy and a restorative practice approach to counseling.
Through her educational experience, Meleana has worked in education, specifically elementary education for over 12 years as a teacher, and as a school counselor. Trained in Restorative Justice and Practices and a current licensed School Counselor in the state of Colorado allows her to provide services specific to individuals and families that may have struggles in school based learning.
She works with clients experiencing disruptive behavior, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, anxiety and depression.
Meleana takes a person-centered approach to counseling and aims to provide a positive relationship for non-judgmental counseling in a safe and professional service to her clients. She believes that everyone should have a safe and healing place to work through all of life’s difficulties.
In her spare time, she loves to go whitewater rafting, hiking and biking in southwest Colorado. She loves to spend time outdoors with her loving husband, her silly two year old daughter and her furry dog, Nala.
